What Parents Say about Our Camp:
My son - 7 years - only attended a few days at Spring Break camp but immediately asked to be signed up for summer camp and classes. He was proud of the things he's learning and overall seemed to feel very comfortable and happy. Also all the staff was very responsive and kind.
- Nette Gaastra (2014 Spring Break)
Both my kids had a blast going to summer camp. My son said he loved everything, except the push-ups. My daughter had fun with the crafts, yoga, backyard sports and snap circuits. I loved that we were attending a camp in our neighborhood which meant less travel time for us the parents. We will definitely sign them up again next year!
- Betty Law (2013, 2014 Winter & Spring Breaks, 2013 Summer Camp;
Parent of 2 campers)
Energy, enthusiasm,and overall good vibes typify this school! Our two kids had SO much fun with the different 2013 Spring Camp activities. We were very pleased with the variety of things to do (a good balance between physical and non-physical activities) and felt the camp was a good fit for us. All of the instructors are very caring and terrific! This school is
definitely a hidden gem and we will be back for the summer. The kids were
begging to be registered for the summer camp as soon as spring camp was done!
- Malabika Das (2013, 2014 Spring Breaks & 2013 Summer Camp;

- Riley, age 7 (2012, 2013, 2014 Winter Breaks, Spring Breaks & Summer
Camps, Little Camper)
“Our daughter had a fantastic time at MKD Karate Spring Break Camp. They did so many great activities, she didn’t want to leave at the end of the day. She was happy and exhausted from having so much fun.”
- Sarah Hill (2012, 2013, 2014 Winter Breaks, Spring Breaks & Summer Camps)
I am very pleased with their program. I thought this year (2011) MKD Karate
has put together an excellent program which is unlike any other nearby. They have brought together real artists to introduce children to acting, movie making for children, music, comedy, and yoga; not to mention the karate and other physical activities. The instructors are highly qualified and very nice people.
- Nayla Ali (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Winter Breaks, Spring Breaks & Summer Camps)
My five-year-old son loved MKD Summer Camp and was excited to attend
each morning! We were very impressed with the range of activities and the kindness and dedication of staff members, and would highly recommend this program.
- Sara Stemen (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 Winter Break, Spring Break & Summer Camp)
Our son had a wonderful experience at MKD's Spring Break Camp.
Since he is only five, we were a little unsure if he would like it or want to
stick with it, but he loved it. He was exhausted at night, but excited to show
us what he had learned and tell us how many push ups he had done that day. I felt like it was very good for him physically and mentally; he loved the
instructors and seemed to do very well with the structure of the camp. He is excited to continue to study karate and we are very happy to have found MKD.
- David French (2013 Spring Break & 2013 Summer Camp parent)
My 6-year old daughter had a wonderful time at MKD Karate Spring
Break camp. The teachers were wonderful and my daughter enjoyed the mix of athletic and artistic activities. Everyday she came home excited to tell us about all the new things she did that day. I would highly recommend MKD to other parents and children in the neighborhood.
- Xavier Niz (2013 Spring Break parent)
My daughter had a fantastic experience at MKD Karate Spring Break Camp. She was challenged both physically and mentally to push herself to learn new skills. She has asked everyday when she can go back to karate camp. We are really looking forward to the Summer camp at MKD!
- Amy Bottero (2012 Spring Break Camp Parent)
My 6 year old son had a wonderful experience at MKD karate camp. He came home everyday happy and very tired. It was just the right mix of karate and other fun activities like arts and crafts, music, etc. It is a
wonderful camp option right here in Jackson Heights.
- Christine Toner (2011 Summer Camp Parent)
The MKD Karate summer camp offers a uniquely balanced combination of 'left and right brain' activities. Kids get to spend the cooler, morning hours out in the park honing their motor skills while having fun. In the second half, they exercise the creative sides of their brains by participating in such activities as movie making and origami. All of this takes place in a very relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere.
